Another Sweet Richard

Another Sweet Richard is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Ken Sheffield (website) in 1982 and published in From Two Barns, Vol 1. It is a Square dance. There is no progression in this dance. It is a USA dance. The dance lasts 120 bars.

There are various dances named Sweet Richard in Johnson, 1740; Walsh, 1745; Thompson, 1771; Rutherford, 1775; Longman & Broderip, 1790; Preston, 1797; Wilson, 1809. But none is in a square formation, so I think this one is Sheffield's own. Sheffield seems to omit attribution about half the time so I'm not sure if the lack of it on this dance means that he devised it, or merely that he's not bothering to mention the origin. But I think it is most likely that he is the devisor, since nothing I can find looks like this.

In the heys in part 2, Sheffield says they last 3 changes, they actually last four, but the end couples can only do 3 of them.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.
