As You Were

As You Were is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Renée Camus (website) in 2020. It is a proper 3 Couple Longways dance. It is a multipart dance. The dance lasts 96 bars. The tune is a jig. An online description of the dance may be found here.

The tune, also called As You Were, was composed by James McNally of the band Afro Celt Sound System. It was synthesized using Colin Hume's software.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.

The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), set, turn single, gypsy, cast, hands across, hey, hey for three, mad robin, siding, arming, back to back, hole in the wall (and probably others).

If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
