My Research into Stuff I Thought Interesting

• An attempt to examine the history and changes of Country Dancing.
• An similar attempt to try and figure out how Scottish Country Dance got that way.
  • A list of all the "traditional" dances of the first 34 (R)SCDS Books with original sources where I could find them.
  • A description of "borrowing" in Scottish Country Dancing, with examples taken to its logical conclusion.
• A list of several dances where I track how the dance evolved over time (and perhaps distance).
• A list of several figures where I track the history of that figure.
• A study of several permutations, and how the permutation of the couples in a dance determines the kind of dance.

These notes express my opinions. I cannot guarantee that they are correct, but they are based on the research I have been able to do with the sources available to me. But there are doubtless old books which I will never track down...
