The Baffled Knight

The Baffled Knight is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Marjorie Heffer & William Porter in 1932 and published in Maggot Pie. It is a proper 4 Couple Longways dance. There is no progression in this dance. It is a USA dance. The dance lasts 96 bars.

I am as baffled as the Kight by the instructions at the end of Part 3, B1. Either I have made a mistake or there is a misprint, for I do not have the 1s facing down.

Hands-eight half-way round clockwise (sl. s.), ending in straight files, improper, the 1st and 3rd couples facing down, the others up.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.

The dance contains the following figures: USA, hand turn (allemande), turn single, circle, cast, hey, circular hey, siding, arming (and probably others).

If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
