When Nothing Goes Right, Go Left!

When Nothing Goes Right, Go Left! is a Scottish Country Dance. It was devised by Rachel McDonald in 2025. It is a proper Triple Minor dance. It is a mixer. J32.
On 24 July, 2025 I was coming down a mountain on my bicycle. I swerved to avoid a runner, lost control and crash. I broke my right clavicle (all the way through, in at least 2 places), snapped a ligament in my AC joint, and broke 8 ribs. I had surgery to repair the clavicle and AC joint. Finally, 9 weeks after the event, I was able to return to my Scottish Dance class, and our teacher, Rachel, devised this dance for me. It was hard for me to use my right hand, so this dance avoids that.
Rachel suggests the tune "It's All Right" for the dance.
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), set, cast, hands across, hey, (and probably others).
