Set And Rotate

A set and rotate begins with everyone setting on the sidelines, but on the second bar everyone drops hands and pulls back their right shoulder, then they chase one place clockwise, and turn to face their partners, then cross with partner by the right hand, and chase one more place.
I'm not aware of a four couple variant of this figure.
History
A note on the Scottish Country Dance database for the dance Brimmond (by John Drewrey, 1986) claims that it was the first dance with this figure. The first use in an RSCDS Book was the dance The Gilly Flower in Book 36.
The first uses of a three couple version that I've found was devised by Ian Barbour in 1992: The Newholme Jig.
