Espagnole

Espagnole is a progressive figure for two couples: the men cross the set to the woman's line, as the women lead between them and then cross right (2nd woman in front of 1st). Then the two women cross the set back to their own side, while the two men lead between them and cross right (2nd man in front of 1st). The 2s are now above the 1s.

Each couple does an easy hand turn, 2s right, 1s left back to progressed places.

History

The first use of Espagnole that I can find is in John Drewry's Ardgilzean, 1975.
