Farewell to Balfour Road

Farewell to Balfour Road is a Scottish Country Dance. It was devised by Andrew Buxton in 2018 and published in RSCDS Book 52. It is J96 5C, a proper 5 Couple Longways dance. There is no progression in this dance. J96. Someone thought this dance was Hard.

When M1 reaches bar 16 he has just done a set and link and is about to do a mirror reel. Unfortunately the set and link propels him outside the set, while the mirror reel needs him to go inward. So when dancing this I try to remind myself to move inward at that point.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.

An online description of the dance may be found here.

The dance contains the following figures: set, circle, hey, mirror hey, set and link (and probably others).

If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
